Bottle Collection Updates - Total Sum so far

Below is the Bottle Collection Update for Oaktree 2024. The total will be divided by 3 and put in each of our websites after we collect the final bottles today,

Why I am Living Below the Line 2024

From the 29th of April to the 3rd of May 2024, our family will be challenging ourselves to survive on only $2 a day for food. We are doing this to understand the struggles of living below the poverty line, and to raise funds for Oaktree, a non-profit organization that provides support for those living in poverty in the Asia-Pacific region.

Our school has partnered with Oaktree in the Live Below the Line campaign, and would like your donation. By donating to my page (endorsed by Oaktree), you will support Oaktree’s partners and programs to empower young people in the fight against poverty and injustices in the Asia-Pacific region. My second 'Line' - Waste

PROBLEM

There has been an increase in the number of cans, bottles, and drink containers being littered around the school.

As this is my 3rd year doing LBTL, I have to come up with new and improved ways to seek donations from others, rather than just expecting donations from past donors, especially considering the current cost-of-living crisis.

ACTION

We will pick up cans and bottles and recycle them for 10c each at the Victorian Container Deposit Scheme Bottle Depots. We are collecting these cans in order to reduce the number of drink containers going into landfill or being left on the ground, whilst raising money for Oaktree.

I am completing this line with my brother and sister (Anthony and Clarissa) so we will evenly splitting themoney from the depots at the end of the challenge when putting the money on our fundraising pages
