Travelling from interstate? Some things you need to know:
You will need to arrange your own transport to Kilbreda College by 9am on Friday 24th of July. Kilbreda College is on Mentone Parade, close to Mentone train station, on the Frankston train line. It is approximately 20km from Southern Cross Station, where interstate buses and the airport shuttle bus arrive. There will not be parking available so please don't drive unless completely unavoidable.
We encourage you to travel to Kilbreda with your state to ensure you don't get lost - your relevant Oaktree contact person will get in touch close to the date about meeting places and times. Here are some suggestions for how to get to Melbourne and to Bootcamp:
If you are arriving by bus - Greyhound buses from Sydney arrive at 7am on Friday the 24th July, buses from Canberra arrive at 5pm on Thursday the 23rd of July. More information and information on other interstate bus routes is available at http://www.greyhound.com.au/.
If you are arriving by plane - From the Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine), we recommend that you take the Skybus shuttle bus into Southern Cross Station. the Skybus departs every 10 minutes from 2 locations outside the airport (outside Terminal 1 and Terminal 3) and takes about 20 minutes to Southern Cross Station. Tickets are $18 one-way/$30 return and can be purchased online or at the Skybus ticket booths (outside Terminal 1 and Terminal 3). For more information about the Skybus, go to the website at http://www.skybus.com.au/.
We encourage you to get to Kilbreda from the city with your state team. However, if you have to travel there yourself:
From Southern Cross Station to Kilbreda College - Kilbreda is approximately 20km from Southern Cross, and accessible by train only. To take the train, take a Frankston line train. Get off at Mentone train station.
Travel by train requires a reloadable Myki card, available to purchase at Southern Cross Station. Information about the Myki card is available at http://ptv.vic.gov.au/tickets/myki/.
If you are flying from WA or NT, or travelling from a regional location, you may need to arrive the day before Bootcamp. You will need to book extra nights of accommodation individually. You can have a look for some low-cost accommodation here: http://www.hostelbookers.com/hostels/australia/melbourne/.
Getting home from Bootcamp
Bootcamp will conclude by 4pm on Sunday 26th July, allowing time to travel home the same day. It is your responsibility to arrange transport home - and if you are flying, remember to allow sufficient time (at least 3 hours) to get from Mentone to the airport and check in!
