Why Volunteer At Oaktree?
You’ll gain invaluable skills and experience.
When you're working at Oaktree, you won't be making coffees or mailing letters - you'll work in real world situations and learn skills that will carry you into the future. Whether your role involves organising events, facilitating conversations or designing strategy, it's guaranteed that you'll draw on these skills in your future career, no matter where you're headed.
You’ll join a community of like-minded young people.
At Oaktree our greatest strength is our volunteers - passionate, determined and inspired to create change. We may all come from different backgrounds, but we share the common belief that injustice is unacceptable and we are committed to fight it together. Each of our volunteers bring a range of experiences to the table, so not only will you learn within your own role, but from the people around you.
You’ll have a significant impact on the fight for a more just world.
It's pretty incredible the impact a dedicated crew of young people can have. We've raised over 10 million dollars for life-changing education projects in the Asia-Pacific, mobilised thousands of young people to take action on injustice and reached millions through our campaigns. Every role at Oaktree, no matter how small, works towards taking meaningful action against injustice.
How you can volunteer
There are many roles, in either our State Teams or HQ in Melbourne. Our volunteer roles have a range of hours, and we try to be as flexible as we can be, depending on the position.
Almost all of our positions here at Oaktree are unpaid volunteer roles, though we do have a few salaried positions. All positions are unpaid unless otherwise stated on the position descriptions.
