The need to support vulnerable communities with managing climate change is more urgent than ever. The impacts of climate change - extreme weather events, food & water scarcity, rising sea levels - are disproportionately affecting those living in poverty.
That’s why we launched the Collective Future Speaking Tour in October - a series of forums bringing together voices from the Asia-Pacific to share stories on how climate change has impacted their communities. We held forums in Sydney, Tamworth, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne and Canberra. More than 604 people attended those forums and committed to take action.
The Speaking Tour offered an opportunity to hear firsthand from those most affected by climate impacts, learn how we can meet these new challenges, and for ordinary people to take collective action to build the climate-resilient communities of the future.
