Oaktree and other international aid organisations have inspired me to want to establish my own foundation/charity based organisation. However, I do not posses enough information of how to go about doing so. Does anyone have experience/knowledge or know anyone who has established their own foundation in order to help those in need?
Education is the key to ending the poverty cycle for individuals and a community as a whole. I believe that the Live Below the Line campaign is a fantastic approach to international aid. I think it is really important to not just sign up, but to also get others involved. This year I have been focusing on not just raising money for my own LBL campaign, but to also encourage others to join and do it themselves. I think that this is just as important as getting people to donate to your own LBL campaign. I am trying out different ways to try and get people involved. I think getting people to join a team that you have either created or have joined, is a great way. Everything is easier in a team, and teams are great incentives for people to push themselves in getting more support. The element of competition between teams, and the inherent team work in that, is also a great incentive and strategy to get people involved and getting people to support the campaign. I am very interested in learning about new ways to encourage people to sign up to do the Live Below the Line challenge. Good luck to everyone doing Live Below the Line, this year. :)
hai all, glad to meet you all. As you all said, one nation or people can growth only when there is no poverty.
What’s the use of living all the years, without helping our fellow humans.
I wish to join you all and help up to my hands are concerns.
In 2012 I visited Phuket for a family holiday. I wanted to go to an orphanage. My mum said we could if i found one within driving distance. So i did exactly that. Aged fourteen I found ‘Phuket Sunrise children’s village.’ We have them a bag of old clothes and toys, spoke to the lady who ran the place and waved to the children before they ate lunch. Ever since then I have been so inspired to do something like this again. But this time even bigger.
Let’s have fun and make a difference this year :-)
