End Poverty Campaign

End Poverty Campaign

In 2014, Oaktree ran the End Poverty campaign in the lead up to the November G20 leaders conference in Brisbane. Across three months, the End Poverty campaign cumulatively reached over 1.6 million Australians through the media and showcased to Australian politicians the need to take action.

At the conclusion of the Summit, Prime Minister Tony Abbott announced that world leaders at the G20 had made commitments to reforming the global tax system. In his public announcement Mr Abbott stated that “it’s about the countries of the world, the people of the world receiving the tax benefits that they are due and it’s needed so that governments can fund the infrastructure and the services that people deserve."
